My window air-conditioner on the fan setting. Fan turns on for a few secs and shuts off. Recorded on yeti usb microphone on the stereo setting. Microphone was placed about 6 inches from the unit, right below the top vents where the air comes out. Some very low frequency rumble was attenuated slightly.
Mac ibook g3's cdrom working and producing various sound including some air noise from the spinning cd. Recorded very close to the cdrom with rode nt1000 condensor microphone through tlaudio fat2 tube preamp through rme hammerfall dsp audio interface.

This is a simulated aircraft flyover made from a tablefan and some processing. This is my first sound effect. It is normalized and should be mixed quite low for a believable effect.

This is the sound of the broken fan at the bathroom in my friends house. It sounds a lot like a cricket, but i can assure you it’s a machine- once again this was straight off my phone so sorry if the quality is pretty bad. I hope this can still be of use to you.
